Ice at Mount Kilimanjaro

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, standing at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level. Located in northeastern Tanzania, it is a dormant volcano with three main volcanic cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira.

Kilimanjaro is famous for its snow-capped peak and attracts thousands of climbers each year. Despite being near the equator, its summit is covered with glaciers, though they are rapidly shrinking due to climate change. It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and part of Kilimanjaro National Park.
